Site Updates Planned for 2019

Tuesday, January 8th, 2019 ::

This site has been on hiatus for a while now, but I’ve kept holding onto this site hoping I would one day want to start updating again. That day seems to have come. My plans for 2019 include adding some new stuff here and cleaning up some of the book lists.

I haven’t been reading a great many mystery books, although I have been reading some thrillers and crime stories. I’ve been getting most of my mystery fix from television, from shows like Broadchurch, Midsomer Murders, Grantchester, The Five (underrated and really worth watching), and of course reruns of Psych (still my favorite mystery show).

My favorite mysteries of 2019 were more science fiction than mystery but they definitely had mysteries to be solved. That would be the Murderbot Diaries. If you like your mysteries with science fiction attached, these might be for you.

As for the site updates and plans, first up, I’ll be updating the cozy mystery section, because I have a very long list of cozies I want to read this coming year. Then I’ll revisit the lists here and do some cleaning up of those.

Before all that, though, I’m actually planning an overhaul of the back end up this site. Currently, it runs on WordPress, but I don’t like the new direction WordPress is taking so I’m ready to get this thing off that software. Time to go back to basics. That might take a few months because there is a lot of stuff on this site. Depends how efficiently I can transfer the content I have here into the new format.

Want quicker, easier access to good books?
