July 3, 2009 New York Times Bestsellers!

By Heather on July 6th, 2009

As a follow up to Terescia‘s post on June 10th, I thought I’d see what Amazon had on this weeks’ Top 20 New York Times Bestseller list.   And–guess what?–there are more Mystery and Crime Fiction Books on there than any other writing genre.   From time to time we tend to see more romance novels on there, but here lately I’m seeing more and more mystery and crime books than ever.

To compare, Terescia’s Top 10 list showed [as numbered on the list]:

1. Angels & Demons by Dan Brown (Crime Fiction Books)

3. Sail by James Patterson & Howard Roughan (Crime Fiction Books)

5. Say Goodbye by Lisa Gardner (Crime Fiction Books)

7. Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris (Mystery Fiction Books)

8. Odd Hours by Dean Koontz (Crime Fiction Books)

9. Living Dead in Dallas by Charlaine Harris (Mystery Fiction Books)

10. From Dead to Worse by Charlaine Harris (Mystery Fiction Books)

And today’s (well, the 3rd’s) list shows [as numbered on the list]:

2. Fearless Fourteen by Janet Evanovich (Crime Fiction Books)

3. Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris (Mystery Fiction Books)

4. Sail by James Patterson & Howard Roughan (Crime Fiction Books)

5. From Dead to Worse by Charlaine Harris (Mystery Fiction Books)

9. Living Dead in Dallas by Charlaine Harris (Mystery Fiction Books)

13. Club Dead by Charlaine Harris (Mystery Fiction Books)

14. Angels & Demons by Dan Brown (Crime Fiction Books)

15. Dead to the World by Charlaine Harris (Mystery Fiction Books)

16.   The Front by Patricia Cornwell (Crime Fiction Books)

17. The Bourne Sanction by Robert Ludlum (Crime Fiction Books)

18. Definitely Dead by Charlaine Harris (Mystery Fiction Books)

19. Dead as a Doornail by Charlaine Harris (Mystery Fiction Books)

All I can say is WOW! ;-)
